Lakeland, FL – The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, today endorsed Dennis Ross, to be the Republican nominee.  Upon receiving the FOP endorsement, Dennis Ross said,

“The mission of the Fraternal Order of Police could rightly be called a mission for America.  From supporting and defending the Constitution, to encouraging social, charitable, and educational activities for members, and striving to improve performance and efficiency, the FOP serves as a model of leadership for our community and our nation.  I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful that an organization representing those who risk life and limb everyday for the safety and security of all of us, would endorse my campaign for Congress.  I do not take such confidence and support lightly and will strive, everyday, to serve with principle, integrity, and honor.  Thank you to the FOP for the endorsement, but more importantly, thank you to the 325,000 members who serve and protect our communities everyday.”

According to fop.net, The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. The FOP is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. The FOP is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.

The following press release was sent out earlier by the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police:
Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police announces our Republican Primary endorsement of Dennis Ross for United States House of Representatives – District 12

The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police announces our endorsement of Dennis Ross in the Republican Primary election for District 12, United States House of Representatives.  Mr. Ross is an advocate of strong conservative view points and personal responsibility.  He has served Florida well as a State Representative.  We believe Dennis has the conviction and integrity to do what is right for Florida citizens.  He will make the tough decisions to bring respect back to Congress and put the Congress back on track to do the business of the people.

After carefully considering his legislative platform and real life experience, the Fraternal Order of Police, Florida State Lodge is pleased to lend our name to Mr. Ross for his primary campaign for election to the United States House of Representatives – District 12.

Sincerely,

James W. Preston, President

Florida State Lodge

Tea Parties still protesting. Is anyone listening?

Tea PartyTea Parties still protesting. Is anyone listening?

This is the major question when you have thousands of people showing up at Tea Party events and protesting. Tea Party stands for (Taxed Enough Already), and it appears to be the Republican answer to the Democrats www.moveon.org . Tea Party’s are supposed to have no party affiliation and are not to be geared to pushing any particular candidate, but candidates do speak at Tea Party events. I have participated in Tea Party events myself with my wife and children as I do believe in the philosophy, but is anyone really listening. My wife and I have been involved in the political process for years but it appears that people start a movement, no one listens, and then the people become burnt out on the movement they were so passionate about. The Flag Day Tea Party event in Lakeland did not bring as many volunteers as the Tax day Tea Parties in Lakeland and Bartow. Currently more than 900 Tea Party groups Nationwide are having protests against what they are calling, “ABC News’ one-sided, supportive presentation of the Obama administration’s plan for a nationalized health care system.” The President’s plan is being aired Wednesday at 10 p.m. on ABC News and will feature President Obama, speaking from the White House, about the Senate Health, Education and Labor Committee’s proposed legislation for a government takeover of U.S. health care.

President Obama will answer questions about his vision for socialized health care from a panel of Americans selected by ABC News.

Are Tax Payers really tea’d off or is it an illusion as the crowds don’t seem to be what they once were? Are politicians really listening or is this just a free venue to come and speak to a group of people who you are not sure if they are your constituents or not? Do people really believe they are making a change or are they just going about their everyday lives and saying “as long as it doesn’t affect me”? Bill Maher stated that the Democrats are the new Republicans and the Republicans are the “Crazy Party”, is this true? I don’t know the answer to these questions but what I would really like to know. Is anyone listening?

Paula Dockery could be a contender!

Posted on 14 June 2009 by admin

Paula Dockery

Paula Dockery could be a contender for Governors mansion.  Already the Draft Campaign site (http://www.dockery2010.com) has received more traffic in one week than most sites in Central Florida see in a month.  This has to say something for the Senator.

People are hungry for a real change.  It seems they voted for change last November but we haven’t really seen any yet.  Senator Dockery seems to be a zephyr in a stale world.  If the GOP was smart they would make her the poster child of the NEW REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Paula is not only Smart and Beautiful, she is a fighter.  She single handily fought of a HUGE corporation and was outnumbered by lobbyist about 4-1 in Tallahassee.  However she still came out victorious.  This is a modern day David and Goliath story.

Paula’s record of service in the House and Senate speak for themselves.  She has always put citizens first and we need to make sure that we elect Representatives that embody that.  To often it seems special interest control our elected officials.

For this reason alone.  I can say I see why the new popular phrase is “I’m a Paula-Tician”
