(Sanford, Florida) According to the report from Seminole County Elections Supervisor Mike ERtel, absentee and early voting is hitting new records in his county.
A statement from Ertel says the following:
Wow! What a first day of early voting. Attached is the chart which reflects activities up until this day. In the chart, I have broken down the early voting and absentee numbers by party affiliation of the voter and date vote cast. I have also listed the number of early voters by location.
Here are some highlights of this election, compared with the 2008 Primary Election:
2008 – 7,375 total absentees cast for the entire election.
2012 – 9,860 absentees cast up to today!
2008 – 331 early voters on day one.
2012 – 830 early voters on day one!”
