(Orlando, Florida) – Medical City’s new VA hospital may be completed sooner rather than later.
Veterans’ Affairs officials, along with executives from Brasfield & Gorrie, the main contractor for the new Orlando VA Hospital, told federal representatives at a hearing in Lake Nona Monday the hospital could be open in 2013, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Originally planned to open in October, the hospital’s opening had been delayed with VA officials targeting a summer 2013 completion and Brasfield & Gorrie aiming for the end of 2014. But last week, Brasfield & Gorrie President Jim Gorrie said they were “making progress” on the project and believe the hospital could open between July and November 2013.
